Data capacity scaling of a distributed Rydberg atomic receiver array

چکیده
The data transfer capacity of a communication channel is limited by the Shannon-Hartley theorem and scales as $\text{log}_2(1 + \text{SNR})$ for single with power signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). We implement an array atom-optical receivers in single-input-multi-output (SIMO) configuration using spatially distributed probe light beams. receiver observed to scale N\times\text{SNR})$ consisting $N$ receivers. Our result independent on modulation frequency, we show that such enhancement bandwidth cannot be obtained similar level combined optical power. investigate both theoretically experimentally origins limit our implementation.

A high capacity CDMA array-receiver requiring reduced pilot power
AbstmctUse of coherent modulation for the uplink of wireless CDMA systems requires pilot signals which contribute to the interference seen by other users. In previous work we showed that blind array-receivers outperform pilot-channel assisted array-receivers in capacity for various operating conditions. These array-receivers avoid additional interference due to pilot signals and achieve better ...
متن کاملAtomic Rydberg reservoirs for polar molecules.
We discuss laser-dressed dipolar and van der Waals interactions between atoms and polar molecules, so that a cold atomic gas with laser admixed Rydberg levels acts as a designed reservoir for both elastic and inelastic collisional processes. The elastic scattering channel is characterized by large elastic scattering cross sections and repulsive shields to protect from close encounter collisions...
متن کاملAtomic Fock state preparation using Rydberg blockade.
We use coherent excitation of 3-16 atom ensembles to demonstrate collective Rabi flopping mediated by Rydberg blockade. Using calibrated atom number measurements, we quantitatively confirm the expected √N Rabi frequency enhancement to within 4%. The resulting atom number distributions are consistent with an essentially perfect blockade. We then use collective Rabi π pulses to produce N=1, 2 ato...
متن کاملAtomic Data Access in Distributed Hash Tables
While recent proposals for distributed hashtables address the crucial issues of communication efficiency and load balancing in dynamic networks, they do not guarantee strong semantics on concurrent data accesses. While it is well known that guaranteeing availability and consistency in an asynchronous and failure prone network is impossible, we believe that guaranteeing atomic semantics is cruci...
متن کاملDistributed Data Mining: Scaling up and beyond
In this chapter I begin by discussing Distributed Data Mining (DDM) for scaling up, beginning by asking what scaling up means, questioning whether it is necessary, and then presenting a brief survey of what has been done to date. I then provide motivation beyond scaling up, arguing that DDM is a more natural way to view data mining generally. DDM eliminates many difficulties encountered when co...
